Tanto na Esquadra da Cometis como na da Rua da Palma onde nos dirigimos em primeiro lugar, fomos muitissimo bem atendidos e a resposta mostrou ser rpida e eficiente ao furto da carteira de um ex-colega meu, americano, que nos veio visitar com a sua famlia. Passado muito pouco tempo desde que o furto ocorreu, enquanto aguardvamos ser atendidos na Cometis, a carteira que foi furtada na Baixa ao meu amigo encontrou o caminho de volta ao seu proprietrio, tendo-lhe a mesma sido devolvida naquela delegao de Polcia, o que no deixou de nos causar uma agradvel surpresa, pela rapidez e eficcia destes servios de apoio ao turista estrangeiro, o que se louva. I thought that getting mugged and assaulted, by three guys, while trying to find my hostel would be the worst part of my night, but then I got to the police station. The receptionist from my hostel was kind enough to walk me to the station, however I wish I wouldn't have gone. The police officer helping me out honestly couldn't have seemed to care less. I don't know what his issue was, but he was just plain rude to me and seemed rather annoyed that he had to help me out (Even the receptionist commented to me about how rude he was, and this was not normal for most police). I explained to him that I was carrying all of my baggage, when I was ambushed, punched in the face, knocked to the ground and robbed, but he didn't seem to take it too seriously since I didn't seek medical attention. The officer barely took down any descriptions (of which he got wrong). When he typed up the report, I mentioned that he got some of the details wrong and he responded with something along the lines of "It doesn't really matter." I would have understood a bit more if it was busier, however, by the time I was served I was the only one left needing help. I was in no way rude or disrespectful to the officer, so I have no idea why he was so cold with me. I felt so looked down upon, and the whole thing felt so pointless, I just wanted to apologize for how what happened to me was such a huge inconvenience for him, get up and leave. There was a second officer there, who seemed a lot nicer. Maybe I would have had a different experience if he would have helped me out instead, possibly.I know that it was unlikely that anything would come of reporting the incident, but I was hoping that they would have at the very least cared, showed some compassion and given me some peace of mind. I did not receive any of that. I ended up leaving the station even more upset than when I arrived. Treating people, who ask for your help, like this is not ok. This was near two very popular hostels as well, so for the sake of others, I hope they took my complaint serious enough to take more precautions in that area.
The best police staff I ever encountered! Very friendly, funny and helpful. They seem to care about you and your needs and do everything possible to help you!
I brought two Japanese friends to this station because one of them lost his passport. After 2 hour waiting we were received with rude comments and told to go to another police station because I spoke portuguese. Neither was I keen to translate the incident that happened to my friend neither was he calm enough or fluent enough in english to tell me. Terrible experience, could have been warned before the 2 hour waiting.
